Taiwan stole my heart with its blend of lush landscapes, ancient temples, and a modern pulse. This island holds hidden treasures and is resilient in the face of nature's might. Here’s my adventure in a land that’s scenic, remote, and surprisingly efficient.


First stop, Tainan, a bustling city filled with vibrant temples, busy markets, and alleyway shops.

At Silk’s Palace Museum, I was amazed by a cabbage carved from a single piece of jade. Its natural colors made it look incredibly lifelike. In fact, most visitors came to the museum specifically to see it. It was truly something special.

As you may know, Taiwan supplies the world with the microchips that power our cars, washing machines, air conditioners, and most electronics. It’s safe to say the nation is both smart and highly efficient.

Formerly named Formosa ('beautiful island') by early Portuguese sailors, Taiwan was a strategic trading point and witnessed conflicts between Japan and China. The island offers a wealth of historical and cultural sites for enthusiasts to explore.


Taiwan is Foodie’s Paradise the communal dining culture, the delicious tea, pork, dumplings, chicken, and night markets are to die for.

Bubble tea and its perfect preparation originated in Taiwan—it’s an irresistible draw for food lovers!


Alishan’s Cloud Forests

Tea-picking experience in Alishan and the coffee culture is must. Taiwan offers natural beauty and cultural practices outside the cities.


Braving Cyclone Kong-Rey

What an intense experience with the cyclone. Strong winds, heavy rain but the efficient government response proves how Taiwan is prepared for such natural events.

The next day was really the calm after the storm, it was business as usuall.


The iconic Taipei 101 with its 360-degree views and the beauty of the city post-cyclone.


China Airlines, based in Taiwan offers the high-quality airline experience, including the flatbed, tideal for a long-haul trip.
