The best way to see the enchanted islands is by cruise, no worries, only small ones are allowed. Galapagos combines well with Ecuador mainland or Machu Picchu.

Fly to Quito, spend a couple days in the mainland exploring the Andes, the indigenous markets in Otavalo, see the Mitad del Mundo, explore Quito’s old town, the best preserved colonial center. If you have more time, go to see the Amazon rainforest.

Fly to Baltra to board your cruise and visit the islands. Each one has its unique fauna and flora. You will be able to swim with penguins, sea turtles, sea lions and even sharks. Everyday you will visit one site in the morning and relax in another site, usually a beach in the afternoon.

At the end of the cruise, you can do your post cruise main land or fly to Lima to do your Machu Picchu visit along with Cusco, Titicaca lake, Lima, and Arequipa.
